South-East youths under the aegis of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders have commended the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti and the Chief Executive Officer of Roxettes Motors, Mr. Kaycee Orji, for their moves to establish the Rosettes Motor Assembly plant in Abia State, describing the gesture as highly commendable and appreciated by them.
The youths, in a statement signed by their President-General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, said, “The assembling of Roxettes Motors will bring to an end the issue of dumping outdated and expired vehicles in Nigeria, as the company is poised to meet the vehicular demands of the federal and various state governments, parastatals, corporations and private persons in the country.
COSEYL noted that the operation of the motor plant will improve Abia and Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product and Balance of Payment of the country, adding, “Roxettes Motors is truly a blessing to Nigeria.”
They commend Governor Otti for encouraging Mr. Otti to bring Roxettes Motors down to Abia State and giving the company all the necessary support needed to establish the assembling plant in the state.
It said, “The establishment of the company, which is expected to provide more than 40,000 jobs for Nigerians, will go a long way to reduce the problem of unemployment and youth restiveness among our youths, crime and other social vices will also be a thing of the past with this all-important investment by Roxettes Motors.”
“We therefore urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the governors of the various states, heads of various government parastatals, corporate and private companies as well as individuals to prioritize the patronage of Roxettes vehicles, which will go a long way to bring about the growth and development of our dear nation.”
Roxette Motors, an indigenous automobile manufacturing firm, has announced plans to commence the assembling of vehicles in Abia State before the end of October 2024.
The construction of its assembly plant at Obu-Aku City, in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State is nearing completion and all the equipment needed to start the assembling of 40,000 units of automobiles per annum is expected to arrive in Abia State, before the end of August, 2024, according to the CEO of Roxettes Motors, Orji.
Speaking during a meeting with Governor Otti, Orji said that the dream, which was hatched a year ago, has now become a reality, due to the encouragement from Otti, who has provided the enabling environment and fulfilled every promise he made to him when he shared the dream of setting up a vehicle assembling plant in Nigeria.
Otto expressed his delight to hear the cheering news that the car assembly plant would soon start operation, hoping that the company would move from assembling to full production.
