A female clerk at a law firm in Aba has miraculously escaped from suspected ritual killers after being kidnapped and held hostage overnight in Ogbor Hill, Abia State.
Barrister Emperor Ogbonna, who shared the shocking incident, revealed that his staff member had gone to the Aba High Court to submit a letter when she boarded a tricycle (Keke) on her way back. Unknown to her, she had entered a deadly trap.
“I don’t know what noxious substance they applied on her, but she lost consciousness and later found herself in an undisclosed location at Ogbor Hill. She was tied up for the entire day and night, awaiting ritual sacrifice,” Ogbonna narrated.
According to him, the abductors had stripped her naked to prepare her for their deadly act. However, upon discovering that she was on her menstrual cycle, they made a shocking decision.
“They called their spiritual leader, a Yoruba ‘Baba’, who informed them that their gods could not accept a woman who was menstruating. That was how they blindfolded her and abandoned her at Ogbor Hill the next day,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ogbonna had already reported her disappearance to the police, and efforts were underway to locate her. Her family had also been in distress, searching for her whereabouts. Fortunately, she returned alive and narrated the horror she had experienced.
The shocking incident has intensified concerns over the rising cases of ritual killings and abductions in Abia State. Ogbonna further highlighted that just two weeks ago, over thirty corpses were discovered in Umuahia, raising alarm over security lapses in the state.
“This is becoming unacceptable. Those entrusted with the responsibility of protecting lives and property must act swiftly and outthink these criminals before more innocent lives are lost,” he emphasized.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but investigations are reportedly ongoing. Residents of Aba and Abia State at large are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
