The House of Representatives has adjourned its legislative activities until September 16, 2024, to observe its annual recess.
Speaker Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Kalu commended their colleagues for their support, unity, and harmony during the first legislative year.
The adjournment motion, sponsored by Majority Leader Hon. Julius Ihonbvere, was passed to enable lawmakers to proceed on the two-month recess.
Deputy Speaker Kalu urged lawmakers to spend time with their constituents during the recess and be prepared to reconvene if an emergency session is necessary.
