Renewed Hope Agenda: NDE Commences Registration Of Abia’s Unemployed

The National Directorate of Employment says it is set to train and empower 92,806 unemployed persons between the ages of 18-55 years.

A statement released by the State Co-ordinator, National Directorate of Employment, Abia State, Mrs Tessy Wachuku, stated that the program is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu which is aimed at combating unemployment in the 36 states of the federation and FCT.

According to the release, the successful unemployed persons would be trained on the following marketable skills: Digital skills, Modern Agricultural skills, Basic Business training, Start your own business, Solar Energy, vocational skills, matured people’s program, construction skills, micro business enhancement scheme and income generating business for women .

The release further stated that the online and physical registration of unemployed persons in the state will commence on Wednesday, 2nd October, 2024 at the NDE state office, Amuzunta, old Umuahia.

Furthermore, the release disclosed that the registration which will cover all the political wards in the state is free .
