Prof Soludo Set To Empower Over 10,000 Youths With Skills And Start-Up-Fund – Commissioner For Youth Development

Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State has approved the skill-up training of ten thousand youths of Anambra State through the 1 Youth  2 Skills Solution Program of the Ministry of Youth Development.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Youth Development – Mr. Patrick Agha Mba during an interactive session with some members of NUJ who were on a courtesy call to him in his country home at Trans Nkisi Federal Housing, GRA Onitsha.

The commissioner asserted that Governor Soludo is fully committed to changing the narratives in governance of the state towards positive direction, particularly in the area of youth development.

He maintained that the Governor stands firm in his target and vision of raising 1000 Youth Millionaires and massively creating 10,000 jobs annually in Anambra State, by driving a total paradigm shift from the usual youth empowerment programmes of government which are only seen on the pages of the National Dailies, to more impactful and sustainable youth development programmes.

Mr. Agha Mba said that with the approval already granted by the governor, the Ministry of Youth Development will soon kick-start the skill-up training of about 10,000 youths in the second phase of the 1 Youth 2  Skills Solution Program. He recalled that in the first phase of the program, about 5000 youths were trained in various skills of choice and entrepreneurship program with provision of start-up funding to the tune of ₦2 Billion to the 5000 beneficiaries of the program.

He enjoined the youths of Anambra State to shun social vices that are inimical to their development and leverage on this wonderful opportunity provided by Mr. Governor, to get themselves equipped with the necessary skills to excel in the global market, as today’s market and workforce is driven by skills and technology.
