Sharing is caring

The Member Representing Awka North And South Federal Constituency, Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu, has expressed deep sadness over the tragic building collapse at Eke Oyibo Amawbia.

During her recent visit to the scene of the tragic event, she let the traders know that her heart goes out to the victims, especially the two deceased persons and the two injured persons currently recuperating at the hospital. She also informed those present that her visit was delayed because the sad event happened while she was representing Nigeria at the Pan African Parliament.

So right upon her return to the Awka North and South Federal Constituency, her first port of call was Eke Oyibo Amawbia to show her concern. Her prayer is for the full recovery of the casualties currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Prof. Orogbu extended her heartfelt thanks to the official rescue team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations and the Anambra State Fire Service for their tireless efforts. She also used the opportunity to thank the ordinary citizens who selflessly grabbed their shovels to help before the official rescue team arrived, adding that their courage and quick action saved lives and brought hope in the midst of despair.

According to her, “We are resilient people, and together, we shall overcome this tragedy. Let us continue to support one another and work towards rebuilding our community stronger than before.”
