President Tinubu Mourns Nigeria’s First Female Major-General

President Bola Tinubu has joined other Nigeria’s to mourn the death of the country’s first female Major General, Aderonke Kale.

President Tinubu described the death as a painful loss to the country.

In a condolence statement signed by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, he sympathised with the Kale family, the Nigerian Army, and the society of medical practitioners in Nigeria on the passing away of one of their own.

Tinubu stated that as a pioneer in her field, the late Major General ” embodied the courage, professionalism, capacity, and resilience of the Nigerian woman”

Kale was trained as a medical doctor at University College, which later became the University of Ibadan, and specialised in psychiatry at the University of London.

Kale’s death was confirmed by the president of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), E. O. Okafor, in a statement on Thursday.

The statement did not reveal the cause of her death but said she passed away in London on Wednesday.
