President Bola Tinubu officially inaugurated Dr. Musa Aliyu as the substantive Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) after his confirmation by the Senate.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at 12:24 pm during the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
President Tinubu also appointed Mr. Clifford Oparaodu as the Secretary to the Commission, with immediate effect.
While the Chairman’s appointment requires Senate confirmation, the position of Secretary does not.
Dr. Musa Aliyu, who has previously served as the Attorney-General of Jigawa State, brings a wealth of legal expertise to the ICPC.
His educational background, holding Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees in Law, further strengthens his qualifications for the role. The swearing-in ceremony signifies President Tinubu’s commitment to combating corruption and promoting transparency in public office.
