President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of renowned scholar Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman as the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The appointment, which is subject to confirmation by the Senate, was announced in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale.

Professor Usman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having previously served as the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board.

During his tenure, he successfully oversaw the operations of the largest quota of state pilgrims in the country, demonstrating his capabilities in managing large-scale hajj operations.

The President expects Professor Usman to discharge his duties with the highest level of integrity, transparency, and utmost fidelity to the nation.

As the new chairman of NAHCON, he will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful execution of hajj operations, as well as promoting the welfare and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims.
