A shocking incident unfolded on Wempco Road in Ogba, Lagos, when a Mobile Police officer attacked an e-hailing driver for slowing down at a Zebra crossing to allow a pedestrian to pass.

The officer, who had crossed the road at the same point, accused the driver of trying to hit him and began punching him.

Eyewitnesses described how the driver was dragged out of his car and beaten, only defending himself when the officer’s assault became unbearable.

The situation escalated when other Mobile Police officers arrived, supporting their colleague and arresting the driver.

The driver’s release was only secured after a rider offered to pay for the injured officer’s treatment.
