VeryDarkMan, a popular Nigerian social media personality, was arrested by the Nigerian police in Abuja at the behest of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) on May 2, 2025.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the arrest, stating that it occurred at Area 3, Abuja, and condemned it as “completely unacceptable”.
The arrest stems from VeryDarkMan’s public complaints about alleged unauthorized debits from his mother’s GTB account, totaling multiple loan repayments she never took.
He had visited a GTB branch in Abuja to demand an explanation and obtain a copy of her bank statement.
