Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, recently paid a visit to renowned journalist Donu Kogbara after she made critical comments about him during an interview on Arise TV.

Kogbara, a respected columnist for Vanguard newspaper, had expressed her concerns, suggesting that Obi had experienced a significant decline in his political standing, referring to him as someone who had “gone from top to bottom” during her conversation with Charles Aniagolu on Arise TV.

In response to these remarks, Obi took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to underscore the importance of engaging with diverse opinions for personal development and effective leadership. He acknowledged the significance of listening to different perspectives, particularly when they are critical, as a means of growth and improvement.

Obi stated: “Having watched the interview with Donu Kogbara on Arise TV and considering the concerns she raised, I felt it was important to visit her. As I have always maintained, leadership and personal growth are deeply tied to the ability to listen, learn, and engage with a variety of perspectives.”

He further expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received during the visit, emphasizing that their discussion was productive and beneficial. Obi added, “I sincerely thank her for the warm reception and useful discussion we had. These kinds of interactions enhance understanding and pave the way for constructive dialogue.”
