Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has rejected Governor Monday Okpebholo’s directive that he seek security clearance before visiting Edo State.
Speaking for the first time on the matter during an interview at Christ The King College (CKC), Onitsha, Anambra State, on Thursday, Obi asserted his right to visit Edo State whenever he chooses.
Obi, who was at CKC to donate N50 million on behalf of the old boys to support the college’s management, advised Governor Okpebholo to instead commend his efforts in supporting public institutions rather than issuing threats.
He further dismissed the governor’s warning, stating that he is accustomed to receiving threats.
“I’m used to receiving threats. I will go to Edo any time I want”, Obi insisted.
The former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, was welcomed to Christ The King College (CKC) by His Grace, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, Archbishop of the Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, along with the college’s management and students.
