PDP Secretary Anyanwu Calls For Peace Amid Party Crisis

Sharing is caring

The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has urged party members to remain calm, assuring that any internal disputes will be handled and resolved through proper party mechanisms.

Anyanwu made this appeal in response to the attempted disruption of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, he stated, “No crisis is beyond resolution, provided those involved approach issues with love and sincerity. As a peacemaker and a leader, I will not tolerate anything that threatens the cohesion of our great party.”

Condemning the alleged invasion of the party’s premises by suspected political thugs reportedly linked to former PDP National Youth Leader, Hon. Udeh Sunday Okoye, Anyanwu called for restraint. He also urged security agencies and affected party leaders to exercise forgiveness in the spirit of reconciliation.

He advised Hon. Okoye and his supporters to handle grievances with decorum, stressing that actions detrimental to the unity of the party—regardless of the status of those involved—must be avoided.

Describing the unruly conduct of some party figures during the BoT meeting as “embarrassing, immature, and unacceptable,” Anyanwu encouraged aggrieved members to seek redress through lawful and constitutional means rather than resorting to disruptive actions.

Reiterating his commitment to fostering peace, he appealed to all affected members to let go of grievances, assuring that the party leadership would address the matter in accordance with the PDP constitution.
