The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum has called on the Federal Government to ensure a fair and speedy trial for those arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

The governors, who met in Jalingo, Taraba State, also criticized the government’s handling of the economy, accusing them of blackmail and piecemeal interventions that fail to address the country’s problems.

In a communique read by Chairman Bala Mohammed, the governors reaffirmed citizens’ rights to peaceful protests and commiserated with families of those killed during the demonstrations.

They praised PDP governors for handling the situation with maturity and restraint.

The forum also weighed in on the PDP crisis in Rivers State, supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara and calling for a review of the party congress outcome to restore his leadership role.

They promised to work with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to resolve the issue.

The governors slammed the Federal Government for failing to address the country’s economic and social problems, instead resorting to blame games and piecemeal interventions.

They reiterated their commitment to standing with the suffering Nigerian masses and taking legitimate steps to alleviate their plight.
