The Commissioner of Police for Imo State, Danjima Aboki, has reaffirmed the command’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to foster stronger relationships with the public.

Aboki made this pledge during the commissioning and formal handover of the “Charlvon Transit Camp,” an initiative of the PCRC, at the Senior Police Officers Mess in Owerri.

The facility was constructed by Chief Charles Amadi, popularly known as Charlvon, who serves as the Grand Patron of the Imo State Chapter of the PCRC.

Commending the PCRC’s efforts, CP Aboki highlighted their steadfast dedication to bridging the gap between the police and the public through awareness programs. He acknowledged their resilience in continuing their mission despite occasional setbacks, including misbehavior from certain police personnel.

The Commissioner lauded Chima Chukwunyere, the PCRC State Chairman, and Chief Charles Amadi for their selfless contributions, describing them as patriots whose efforts will leave a lasting legacy. He encouraged them to sustain their commitment to fostering a positive police-community relationship.

Handing over the state-of-the-art transit camp, Chief Amadi explained that the project was designed to address some of the challenges faced by police officers in the state. He credited the idea to Chukwunyere and pledged ongoing support for the police command.

Representing the National Chairman of the PCRC, Alhaji Mugaji Ibrahim, the National Organizing Secretary, Chukwuaja David, praised the initiative. He described the project as a benchmark for other PCRC chapters in the southeast, inspiring others to follow suit.

“We remain committed to supporting the police in combating crime and ensuring that residents of Imo State can live peacefully, knowing the police are their allies,” David assured.
