More than six hundred suspected touts have been arrested by the Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad, SASA in various parts of the State after one week of its inauguration.
The Director of Operations of the Squad, Mr. Solomon Onwuemene disclosed this while speaking to newsmen.
He said that the suspected touts were arrested in Onitsha North and South, Ogbaru and Idemili North Local Government Areas.
According to Mr. Onwuemene, they also recovered hard drugs like white cocaine, packets of tramadol, ‘mkpuru mmiri’ among other illegal substances during the raid.
He assured the of the state that soon, there will be no more touting in the State,
He slso commended Governor Charles Soludo for providing them with enough logistics to do their job seamlessly.
Mr. Onwuemene also lauded the Anambra State Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Mr. Chikodili Anara for his numerous support to the Squad.
Mr Onwuemene further revealed that all the arrested suspects would be charged according to the law and warned those with criminal behaviours to leave the State or face the full wrath of the law.
