The Governor, Dr Alex Otti has described prayers from various churches across the state as the brain behind the numerous achievements recorded by his administration in the areas of infrastructural and human development.
A statement by the Information Officer, Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Onyinyechi Obi revealed that Governor Otti made the disclosure at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, Ogbor Hill Aba, during the dedication of the parish, while also describing prayer as key to unlocking multiple blessings.
The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, thanked the Catholic Church and other churches in the state for always interceding for his government and urged them not to relent to enable his administration realize it’s vision of a new and prosperous Abia that everyone will be proud of.
The State Chief Executive while congratulating the catholic faithfuls and the Diocese of Aba for achieving the feat of completing and dedicating their magnificent building despite numerous challenges, also explained that his administration is fully committed to transforming and reclaiming the lost glory of Aba as the industrial hub of the state and Japan of Africa.
He further described the dedication as a monumental landmark in the history of the church and enjoined the members to make the building a center point where the word of God is preached.
In a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, the Most Reverend Augustine Echema while commending the vision bearers of the church for laying a solid foundation for the parish, described thanksgiving as a period to reflect over the goodness of God and appreciate him more for his mercies.
In their remarks, the Rector of St. Ambrose Parish, Ogbor Hill Aba, Very Rev. Father Jacob Ugboaja, the chairman on the occasion, Sir James Ikoro, chairman of the dedication committee, Sir Basil Okolo, Vice chairman of the parish, Sir Hope Akajuru among others expressed joy over the successful completion and dedication of a befitting place of worship which was accomplished through the contributions and cooperation of members and non members, and thanked them for their support.
The dedication mass which featured goodwill messages, dedicatory prayers and issuance of certificate of dedication to the parish Rector by Bishop Echema, presentation of awards to some distinguished personalities, prayers for Governor Otti and the state, also attracted the presence of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Apostle Kenneth Wiper, the Clergy, traditional rulers among other notable personalities.
