A 50-year-old murder suspect, Kehinde Ganiyu, has confessed to killing his sick friend, Emmanuel Collins, and using his throat to make ritual soap in a bid to seek prosperity.
Ganiyu, who was paraded at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo, said he visited his friend on July 18, 2024, and suddenly had the urge to kill him.
He claimed to have slaughtered Collins on his sick bed, removed his throat, and taken it to a shrine where he mixed it with other items to create a black soap. Ganiyu stated that he had previously prepared ritual soap for “yahoo boys” but wanted to try it for himself, leading to the murder.
The police recovered several exhibits from Ganiyu, including blood-stained knives, gourds containing a black substance, a wooden pot with black soap, and local charms. The suspect will appear in court after a thorough investigation.
