Yesterday, Men of the Operation Udo-ga-chi, arrested one Akaeze Mgabogu, 23 year old Dibia, who is an indigene of Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area, Anambra State. He prepared an Okeite money ritual pot for one Ifeanyi, who was involved in fraudulent activities. Ifeanyi made money but died a few years later.
When members of Udogachi in Anambra East arrested the Dibia with his money charms, he claimed that a casket found in his possession was part of an Okeite ritual belonging to his late client, Ifeanyi. Specifically, he said it was the female component. He also claimed that the photo inside the Okeite was that of a white man whom his late client had duped.
However, when he was forced to reveal the contents of the casket, it was discovered that it contained Ifeanyi’s photo, a knife, a cane, a monkey’s head, and other materials. The Dibia then claimed that the family of the deceased Ifeanyi had not provided the necessary items to destroy the charm, which is why he was still keeping them.
Speaking with the command Udogachi in Anambra East said, that his greatest concern is: why did the casket contain Ifeanyi’s photo if he was lying about it being a white man’s photo? Additionally, why did he hesitate to show the photo until forced to do so? It’s clear that Ifeanyi’s family is unaware that their son’s photo is inside a casket in a native doctor’s house.
