…Calls For Greater Participation From Ndi Anambra.
The Mayor of Onitsha North LGA, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, has made a strong commitment to increase the enrollment of Anambra State youths into the Nigeria Army.
This commitment was made earlier today during the Mayor’s visit to the Army Barracks in Onitsha, where he inspected 69 new intakes from Anambra State preparing for their six-month training in Nigeria Defence Academy Zaira, Kaduna State.
Expressing concern over the low enrollment figures from Anambra, Mayor Nwora emphasized the urgent need for sensitization efforts to encourage more youths to join the military ranks.
He stated, “Through our efforts, we will ensure that more of our young people turn up for the next intake.”
Addressing the new recruits, Mayor Nwora expressed heartfelt gratitude for their dedication to serving the nation. “You are embarking on a journey of service fueled by love for your country. Keep your eyes on the prize, and remember that Nigeria is one country, united in purpose.”
He encouraged the recruits, saying, “This journey will be challenging, but it will bring out the best in you. I will keep you in my prayers for safety and success during your training.” He concluded with a message of hope: “The best of the best have been chosen among you. The ball is now in your court.”
The event also featured remarks from Richmond Iloh, representing the Governor’s Protocol Office, who assured the recruits of divine guidance throughout their training journey.
