Ogboji Killings; Orumba Council Boss Suspects Dept Recovery Saga By ESN

Fresh facts have emerged over the killing of ten Indigenes of Ebony state at Ogboji in Orumba South local government area of Anambra state.

This fresh revelation is made public by the Mayor of Orumba South local government area Hon Shedrack Azubuike who suspected a case of dept recovery between two Ebony Indigenes resident in Ogboji town.

Azubuike in a statement stated that while the Ebony Community in Ogboji were trying to resolve the issue between one Mr Ikechukwu who learnt money to Mr Sunday gunmen suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network ESN stormed the venue of the meeting and killed ten persons.

The statement further alleged that Mr Sunday who is suspected to be a member of ESN invited his suspected colleagues that carried out the dastardly act.

“The recent days have been harrowing due to the barbaric treatment and horrific murder of innocent Ebonyi State Indigenes residing in Ogboji, Orumba South Local Government Area, Anambra State. I unequivocally denounce this violence and express my heartfelt condolences to the affected families”

“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for his prompt and decisive action in addressing this issue”

“I also commend the Joint Task Force, Agunaechemba, police, for their swift efforts to manage the situation and capture some of those responsible for this crime”

“This incident reportedly involves two individuals from Ebonyi State. Mr. Ikechukwu lent money to Mr. Sunday, but his attempts to recover the debt were unsuccessful prompting him to involve the Ebonyi Community leadership in Ogboji”

Azubuike further narrated that ;

“In an effort to resolve the matter peacefully, the community leaders invited Mr. Sunday to a general meeting. Regrettably, what was meant to be a peaceful dialogue escalated into that tragic event resulting in the death of innocent persons “

“Reports suggest that Mr. Sunday is allegedly affiliated with the ESN, and he called upon his associates to retaliate, leading to the violence”

“Fortunately, thanks to the Joint Task Force, several suspects involved in this atrocity have been apprehended”

He however reiterated that; “I am dedicated to working alongside the Governor to restore peace and order in Orumba South. We will ensure that this matter is thoroughly addressed and that justice prevail” he said.
