The residents of Obiofia Otolo Nnewi Community in Anambra State, are urgently calling on the government to address the severe gully erosion that has left many people homeless.

The National President of Obiofia Otolo Nnewi family union, Comrade Chibunna Okeke, spoke out about the devastating effects of the gully erosion that has plagued the community. Over 200 homes have been rendered uninhabitable, leaving families without shelter.

The situation has become dire, as the community’s efforts to combat the erosion have proven insufficient. Comrade Okeke emphasized the urgent need for the Federal Ministry of Works and Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to provide assistance in tackling this pressing issue.

During the rainy season, fear grips the community as they face the constant threat of further damage caused by the erosion. Over 60 properties, including commercial buildings worth billions of naira, have already been destroyed.

The community implores the authorities to intervene for the well-being and safety of all residents. Their plea for help is a cry for humanity, as the situation is beyond their control.
