The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dismissed a report circulating on social media that corps members’ bank accounts are being upgraded to accommodate the new N70,000 minimum wage.
In a statement signed by Eddy Megwa, Director of Information and Public Relations, the NYSC described the report as “absolute falsehood” and “misleading”.
The NYSC emphasized that no directive has been received from the relevant government sector responsible for wage matters, making it impossible for the Scheme to issue any information on the matter.
The statement advised corps members, parents, and the public to ignore the false directive and warned bloggers and social media influencers against issuing unauthorized statements concerning the management of the NYSC.
