Nnobi Market inferno: Idemili South LG Chairman Visits Scene, Donates N300, 000 To Victims

The Transition Committee Chairman Of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Amaka Obi, has commiserated with victims of the fire incident which gutted a section of shops in Nnobi market.


The early morning inferno which was caused by an electrical fault has affected a number of shops where goods worth millions of naira were reportedly lost due to the raging fire.

The Council Chairman, who visited the market to inspect the extent of damage by the inferno, said that she would assist the traders affected with her little widow’s mite to enable them get back to their businesses.

Hon Amaka appealed to the victims of the fire disaster not to despair bit to rather take the unfortunate accident as a misfortune that can befall anyone.

She, thereafter, donated (N300,000) Three Hundred Thousand Naira to the victims to cushion their loses assuring that she will continue to accord priority to traders in the council area for the economy to flourish.

The Chairman Of Nnobi Amalgamated Traders Association, Chief Ezenchi Ezennabude Ezeoke thanked The Local Government Chairman for finding time out of her busy schedule to visit Nnobi market and commiserate with the victims.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr. Emmanuel Ezemadu said the fire which started around 7am Tuesday morning destroyed clothes, shoes among other goods in the shops.

The Council Chairman was accompanied to Nnobi by Former Councillor Nnobi ward 2, Hon Anayo Ejiofor, Hon Uzochukwu Ejigbalu among others.
