The Governorship Candidate of our great party-PDP, Amb. Sir. Jude Ezenwafor, an illustrious son from the community (Nnobi) has formally appealed to His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his government to please halt further demolition of peoples’ property in his hometown, Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.
He made this clarion call during an inspection tour to ascertain level of damages of property in the community, especially at AFOR NNOBI MARKET SQUARE, Were the Governorship hopeful expressed displeasure with the way and manner the state government indiscriminately demolished Houses, Shops, Offices and other critical infrastructure for public use, for a road project without commensurate compensation to their owners.
Chief Jude suggested a better ways to address the situation instead of demolishing critical infrastructures. He advised Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his government to engage professional Civil Engineers to mark designated places to avert destructive damages been experienced currently.
Our principal emphasized the need to preserving the inheritance of the Community, that has span for about 300 years and it’s importance to sustain economic activities in Nnobi town, especially at the ever busy market square. He pointed out that livelihood of different families is been threatened, hence urgent government intervention to stem the tide in a bid to improve living standard of the business community.
He also acknowledged that development is very important but it should not be done to the detriment of the people and frowned at the situation of the business men and women without government support to better their lots. He condemned in it’s entirety the slow pace of work at the construction site of the proposed road project. Chief Jude also observed that most business owners displayed their Goods in an open space without any shelter.
He demanded for immediate compliance to cushion the devastating effects of the demolition by relevant stakeholders in a bid to bring succor to the affected persons in the community without delay. He suggested building either overhead flyover or underground runways to drastically reduce cost and prevent loss of monumental properties by the inhabitants of the age long Nnobi.
You may also recall that chief Jude emerged as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party-PDP governorship ticket. During the visit, he took out time to appreciate his people for their support so far on his governorship ambition and expressed optimism that he will deliver on the mandate, if elected into office on 8th November, 2025.
They prayed for him to succeed; as well appreciated the Governorship hopeful for his philanthropic gesture in supporting them at all time. The event ended with a historic familiarisation GET-TOGETHER with ward Chairmen of the PDP in Idemili South Local government and other teeming supporters that besieged his residence in celebration for his overwhelming victory at the party primaries held on 8th April, 2025 in Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre Awka, Anambra State.
He promised to remain focused and committed in sustaining ISSUE BASED CAMPAIGN throughout his electioneering period.
