Nnewi Vigilante Service in Nnewi, Anambra state on Sunday launched it’s new security strategy Operation Sweep.
The new strategy is aimed at keeping Nnewi free from criminal elements like kidnappers, armed robbers and other forms of crimes.
The operation kicked off on Sunday with a raid on two buildings at Obiofia Nnewichi where over thirty suspected Yahoo boys and kidnappers were arrested 
The successful raid led to the arrest of the suspects and some young girls that have been allegedly exploited by them.
Also found during the raid were charms, mobile phones and dozens of sim cards allegedly used by the suspects for their operations. 
The suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution. Also, the building where they live have been sealed by the Nnewi Vigilante Group for further investigation
