Nigeria Immigration Service Announces Increase In Passport Fees

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an increase in the fees for the procurement of Nigerian Passports, effective September 1, 2024.

This adjustment is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

The revised fees are as follows: 32-page Passport booklet with 5-year validity: previously Thirty-Five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00), now Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00), 64-page Passport booklet with 10-year validity: previously Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00), now One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00)

The NIS spokesman, DCI Kenneth Udo, explained that the fee increase is necessary to maintain the high standards of the Nigerian Passport, ensuring its integrity and security features.

He added that the fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged.
