The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex socio-political youth group in the South East geopolitical zone has criticised the Ebonyi State Government for allegedly arresting Mr. Chika Nwoba, a social media influencer for accusing the government of diverting N3 billion meant for palliatives for indigent Ebonyi citizens.
In a statement signed by Comrade Goodluck Ibem, its President-General, the group alleged that a crack team from the Ebonyi State Police Command came to Onitsha where Nwoba lived and whisked him away.
The offence Nwoba committed, the group said was that he had “petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging that Chief Oguzor Offia Nwali, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, alongside three others diverted the sum of N3 billion meant for the empowerment of Ebonyi boys and girls who into menial jobs in various states of the federation, whose condition Governor Francis Nwifuru, had repeatedly said caused him sleepless nights.
