Sharing is caring

Barely five days after police operatives in Anambra State recovered five unexploded improvised explosive devices (bombs) thrown by gunmen at the Umunze Police Station, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State; the operatives have, again, recovered three more unexploded bombs in the State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday.

According to him, the bombs were recovered when the Joint Security Forces, in a planned and coordinated operation, busted the camps of unidentified gunmen at Lilu, Mbosi and Isseke areas of Ihaila local government council in the State.

SP Ikenga said, aside the three unexploded bombs, the security forces also recovered two abandoned vehicles, some explosives materials like copper wires, fuel, and other dangerous materials.

While noting that the joint operation is still ongoing in the area, he further explained that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has charged the Operatives to sustain the tempo of the operations and has also reassured Ndị Anambra of the commitment of the police and other security agencies to continue to dominate and deny the criminal elements the space they enjoy to commit havoc in the State.
