Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, BASPHCDA, has reported a meningitis outbreak in the State.
An official of the Agency who spoke on condition of anonymity said 6 cases of cerebrospinal meningitis, CSM, have been recorded in the province.
The official also revealed that due measures have been taken to curtail the spread of the disease in the state.
He added that part of the proactive approach is contact tracing within the communities so that any victim can be treated and isolated for proper monitoring and evaluation.
He said the measures were taken to avert further outbreaks, particularly in local government areas, LGAs, bordering Yobe State, such as Gamawa, Dambam, Zaki, Katagum, and other areas in Itas/Gadau.
