Mbah Solicits Private Sector Support In Children’s Education

Sharing is caring

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has charged private sector players to support government efforts in tackling rising societal ills by investing in children and education.

This is as the governor’s smart school initiative received a boost with a donation of sets of school uniforms and other educational materials worth millions of naira from First Choice Afro Villa Ltd.

Mbah noted that early and right investments in children and their education would equip them against crimes, stressing that his idea of smart school is to broaden their horizon to compete with their peers all over the world.

Represented by the Commissioner of Education, Prof. Ndubueze Mba, the governor stated that the state government is determined to revitalise the education system, stressing that the development prompted the allocation of over 33 per cent of the 2024 budget to education.

Expressing appreciation to First Choice Afro Villa for the donation, he stated that it would go a long way in motivating students, explaining that the Enugu Smart School initiative will bridge the gap between those in the rural and urban areas, as well as their counterparts all over the world.

He said that his administration would replicate the smart school in the 260 wards of the state, asking business owners in the state to support the initiative.

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), First Choice Afro Villa Ltd, Jerry Onuokaibe, said investing into the smart school initiative was to encourage the government to do more for the future of the state.
