Loss Of N2 Trillion Property Destroyed Owned By South Easterners In Other State – Bar Sly Ezeokenwa

Bar Sly Ezeokenwa, All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA National Chairman, has called on South East to look into the lost of about N2 Trillion investments outside the geopolitical zone.

In his remark at the groundbreaking ceremony of Oakville Estate at the Millennium City Awka he contended that this sad commentary has further enhanced the need for Southern Business men and women to beginning to invest at home.

According to Ezeokenwa the sum is an estimate of the investments of Igbo people and property destroyed as illegal structures in places such as Abuja and Lagos states and other part of the state, in the country.

“What our people have lost in terms of property and investments is approximately up to N2 trillion in places such as Abuja and Lagos state”

“You are given land approvals to invest and after the investment they come back to destroy your property under the guise of illegal structures and this is frustrating and that is why we need to encourage our people to begin to invest at home and we assure you that your investments are safe” he said.

Gov Chukwuma Soludo, who was represented by the Chief Of Staff Mr Earnest Ezeajughi noted that government has created an enabling environment for people to invest adding that the ground breaking ceremony of the Estate is part of the benefits of the safe climate.

Speaking on their contributions to the development of the Estate the duo of Managing Director Chevron Corporative and She’ll oil and gas Mr Uche Nwosu and Uche Ozoemena who was represented by Engr Ifeanyi Nwasoke said, that they have been involved in the development of such facilities in other towns noting that they have to do same in Awka Anambra state capital.

They stated that they are going to replicate what has been done in Lagos and other towns adding that in the next one year there would be great changes at the estate.

Commissioner for Land Prof Amucheazi explained that government is deeply interested in people coming to the state to invest adding that those basic infrastructure have been put in place for business to thrive.

The Chief Executive Officer of Oakville Mr Chidii Okafor said that;

“Oakville Estate is the first and only estate in the state that is currently designed with an underground drainage system experience house which has a lounge, cinema, Conference room , gym , rooftop bar etc”

“On completion, Oakville will be a smart estate equipped with an electric vehicle charger”. He added.
