There are indications that Spanish giants Barcelona could terminate Robert Lewandowski’s contract at the end of the season, because of a clause tied to his contract

There is a break clause in Lewandowski’s deal with the LaLiga champions.

The clause states that if the Poland international does not start or feature for over 45 minutes in a game, in over 55 per cent of games this season, Barcelona have the option to terminate his contract worth millions.

Lewandowski has been blamed for Barca’s struggles this season and with the forward earning a high salary at a club with well-documented financial troubles, the club may be looking to move him on.

Barcelona who are currently fourth on the table with 31 points from 14 games, will take on third place Athletico Madrid on Sunday.

Surprised team Girona are currently top of the table with 38 points, Real Madrid are second three points behind albeit with a game in hand while Atletic Club in fifth completes the top five in the La Liga.
