Lagos Teaching Hospital Cries Out Over Alarming Shortage Of Health Workers.

The Lagos state teaching hospital and House of rep committee on health has cried out over the alarming rate of shortage of health workers currently plaguing the teaching hospital.

The committee revealed that over five wards within nothing less than 150 beds have been closed at the hospital due to little or no workers.

The chairman of the committee, Dr. Amos Magaji has come out to condemn the unfortunate circumstance, he confirmed the closure of five wards and ascertained the reason behind the closure being unavailability of healthcare workers to meet the large number of patients received at the hospital daily.

He further accused doctors and nurses of abandoning the health facility in search of greener pastures, he confirmed that the institution was experiencing a rapid case of brain drain.

He also reiterated to the press when contacted that the alarming rate of health workers running away from the country is becoming a national embarrassment to the nation.
