Kwara Govt Organizes 2-Day Training For Public Secondary School Teachers On Drug Prevention, Treatment And Care

Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has announced a plan to launch on Wednesday a comprehensive 2-day training program for public secondary school teachers on Drug Prevention, Treatment and Care (DPTC) in the State.

This was contained in a statement released by the Office of the Special Assistant to His Excellency Governor Abdulrazaq on Drug Abuse, Prevention and Control on Monday.

According to the statement, this initiative aims to equip teachers in Kwara State with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to prevent substance abuse among students, secure their future and promote a drug-free society.

The training said to be held at House 12, Onikanga, GRA, Ilorin, from 8 am to 4 pm for two days, also aims to enhance teachers’ capacity to identify and address drug-related issues, provide practical strategies for prevention and treatment and care and foster collaboration among teachers, parents and community stakeholders.

This groundbreaking initiative underscores the Governor AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government’s dedication to addressing substance use and related behavioural health problems. By empowering teachers, the government wishes to create a safer and healthier environment for Kwaran youths.
