Just four months after the well-known actor Junior Pope passed away, actress Adanma Luke was released from suspension by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, or AGN.
The film “The Other Side of Life,” which starred the late actor Junior Pope, was produced by Adanma Luke.
On April 10, 2024, Junior Pope and four other crew members perished when their boat overturned in the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state, when they were travelling to the filming location.
In response to the tragic event, the AGN suspended Luke for violating safety procedures and forbade its members from collaborating with her for an indefinite period of time.
But the AGN declared the suspension was lifted in a statement issued by Abubakar Yakubu, its national secretary.
He said; “The National President of the Guild, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, uses this opportunity to announce the lifting of the suspension placed on Adanma Luke, producer of the movie ‘Another Side of Life,’ where star actor Junior Pope and four other crew member lost their lives in Anam river.
“Also, the President lifted the ban on filming in riverine areas but cautioned members to apply all safety standards recommended in the AGN Bylaws.”
