All is now set for this weekend’s off cycle election in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states. Electoral umpire INEC has since begun the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials for the exercise.

The electoral body also distributed life jackets across the eight local government areas of Bayelsa State where the governorship election will be held.

Besides Bayelsa, the election will also take place in Imo and Kogi States, with the deployment of security operatives to ensure a conducive environment for the voters and INEC officials.

In Kogi state the distribution of sensitive materials across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state is currently going on.

Elections will hold simultaneously in Imo and Bayelsa States. There are fears that violence may mar the exercise with the police, army and other security agencies deploying personnel for the crucial election.

All 27 local government Areas in Imo state are about now taking delivery of materials for the polls

It is however not clear if the flash point areas in Orlu will take delivery of the materials

The place is believed to be the home of members of the IPOB group who have been having a running battle with security agencies in the state.
