During the presentation of the 2025 appropriation bill, aptly termed the “Budget of Expanded Economic Opportunities,” Imo State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for his dedication to fulfilling promises made under his administration’s 3R (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery) mantra. He emphasized the budget’s importance for the citizens and noted the successful execution of projects from the previous year’s budget, which has contributed to a sense of confidence among the populace.
Rt. Hon. Iwuanyanwu specifically highlighted the governor’s efforts to stimulate economic growth in Imo State, expressing optimism regarding the 2025 budget’s potential to build upon this momentum. With an emphasis on collaboration between lawmakers and the executive branch, he reassured citizens that the initiatives outlined in the proposed budget would be realistically pursued and realized, fostering a credible governance approach.
The proposed budget stands at N755,588,041,220, designed to address current economic conditions with projections indicating a 20.7% inflation rate and a 3.5% expected growth rate. Rt. Hon. Iwuanyanwu conveyed hope that this comprehensive fiscal plan would create a favorable environment for investment and socio-economic progress in the state, reinforcing a vision of cooperation geared towards achieving significant advancements for the people of Imo State.
