A chieftain of the APC in the South East Dozie Ikedife, has expressed confidence of Governor Uzodinma’s victory in Saturday’s governorship election.

Ikedife, who is the South East Organizing Secretary, of the party, says Uzodimma’s victory on Saturday will be a landslide victory”.

He said Uzodimma’s achievements in the State were numerous enough to guarantee his second tenure to complete lots of ongoing projects.

In a press conference on Friday, Ikedife asked candidates from opposition parties to get ready to congratulate Governor Hope Uzodimma, and also wait for their turn in 2027.

He called on both indigenes and non-indigenes resident in the State to come out enmass to vote for the governor.

He also said, “Imo electorate havebalready made their choice to return Governor Uzodimma and nothing would stand against their decision.

“Many Imo residents will readily recall that it is a fact that there was once upon a time, when the governance process of Imo State was not going the way the masses liked.

“Apart from the fact that Imo people didn’t know how their State was governed, there was a big wedge between the people and the government. The Governor has always showcased his report card to the people of the State.

“What informs his resolve to run an open, transparent, accountable and inclusive government as attested by the people of Imo State is accountability in action.

However, the Governor can proudly declare at this point that with the support of the people, he has restored democracy to the State with the right application of government of the people, for the people and by the people

On the recent molestation of the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ikedife absolved Uzodimma of any wrongdoing, saying opposition was trying to use the incident to gain cheap political popularity by falsely accusing the Governor.

He wondered why the NLC would decide to shift from its core mandate to delve into politics with desperation”, he said.
