A community in Anambra South Senatorial District, bordering Imo State, has taken a strong stance against cult-related killings and kidnappings by banishing 11 individuals believed to be the masterminds behind these crimes.
The Ihiala Community has been grappling with insecurity, prompting many residents to flee to safer neighboring communities. The community leadership attributes the recent wave of insecurity to cultism and related activities.
To put an end to the menace, the community has implemented concrete measures to eradicate cultism and combat crime. Barrister Okey Leo Ohagba, the President General of Ihiala Progress Union (IPU), released a statement listing the names of the 11 individuals identified as the architects of the cult-related crisis in the community.
These individuals have been permanently banned from setting foot on community lands. Additionally, the community has requested that their photographs be displayed on billboards around the state to raise awareness and deter others from engaging in similar activities.
The community remains committed to restoring security and ensuring the safety of its residents.
