The Leadership of IGBO Concern Citizens in Portharcourt Rivers which is a brain child of Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe on Saturday, 12th of October 2024, paid a condolence visit to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide at the National Secretariat Enugu State. The group which was received by the Vice President General of the Association (Dr. Mrs. Celina Ugwuoke Adibua) and the National Youth Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide (Engr Damian Okafor) used the opportunity to sign the condolence register of the late PG.
Speaking on behalf of the United IGBO Elders Forum, His Royal Highness Eze Fynface Amechi Okoro expressed the enormous pains the people of Rivers State incurred at the break of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s death. This is a man who has raised generation of prosperous young men and women through his Champion Newspaper, Iwuanyanwu airline, Iwuanyanwu Nationale football team and what have you. He is a very good friend to our political leader in Rivers State (Senator Magnus Ngei Abe), who is also a lover of Ndigbo Worldwide that has earned him a title (DIKE DI ORA MMA l), by the united Igbo council of elders worldwide. We are here on his directives to commiserate with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide in that regards and to show our support in this trying time. Also our special appreciation goes to the Governor of Imo State (His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma), over his tireless and frantic efforts in ensuring that ALAIGBO is getting better everyday and his utmost commitment in the burial of Our late PG. The Lord God will continue to bless him; he added.
Also speaking is Chief Dr. Ozed Uba (Leader of the Igbo Concern Citizens in Rivers State), who thanked the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide for their warmth reception within a short notice and assured the presence of IGBO Concern Citizens at all stages of the funeral which has been billed to take off on the 16th October to the 1st of November.
In her appreciation words, Dr. Mrs. Celina Ugwuoke Adibua; Vice President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide thanked the group for coming to show concern to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
She used the opportunity to extend the hands of appreciation to the Governor of Imo State and other IGBO leaders who has been working tirelessly to ensure a successful burial of our late Patriarch. She further debunked the news of leadership tussle in Ohanaeze Ndigbo as the Secretary General Amb Okey Emuchay, has shown capacity in handling the affairs of Ohanaeze as he has served under Late Obiozor and Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and has gannered enormous experience in the leadership of Ohanaeze.
On behalf of the Youth Wing, Engr Damian Okafor who is the National Youth Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide used the opportunity to eulogize the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Amb. Okey Emuchay, who has shown capacity in handling the affairs of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and has carefully followed the footsteps of our late PGs (Late Obiozor and Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu) by carrying everyone along in the affairs of Ohanaeze and ensuring justice at all levels without minding whose ox is gored or whose spade is in the garden. He reiterated his wonderful encounter with Sen Magnus Ngei Abe when he was a student of UNIPORT and confirmed the Abe’s love has no boundaries. He thank the group for identifying with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and wished them well as they journeyed back to Rivers State.
