The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state, Hon Amaka Obi has embarked on remedial work at the failed portion of Nnobi-Nnewi -Agulu road.
The Council Boss who spoke to newsmen, noted that the move was to compliment the effort of the state government.
Meanwhile, the Nnobi community youth leader Amb Chiagoziem Akonu who was on ground during the remedial work called the attention of the Local government chairman towards the condition of the drainage channels around the area, noting that it was as a result of the damaged drainage channels that running water escape it’s routes and end up washing the road surfaces because the water have no direction anyone.
Reacting to the development, Hon Amaka gave assurance that work would be expedited on the drainage channels to give the running water a direction.
Some of the motorists who are plying the road for over six years expressed sadness over the deplorable condition of the road and as well commended the effort of the council chairman to make the portion motorable.
Present during the work were Engr Chino Ochiagha, Idemili South LG department of Works resource person, Engr Osita Udechukwu, former community leader Nnobi, Comrd Okechukwu Mmadunagu among others
