The Mayor of Idemili South local government area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi, has commended Anambra First Lady, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo for empowering and organizing free medical checkups for elderly people in the state.
She made this commendation yesterday during December Empowerment and free medical checkups for elderly people that was hosted at Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, stating that the founder of Renewed Hope Initiative, who is the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Dr. Nonye Soludo are always making the plight of the elderly and vulnerable a priority.
She said that the gesture by Dr. Soludo confirmed the favourable disposition of Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration to older people in the state, stating that such act has accorded the aged people a welcome sense of inclusion and addressed their right to non-discrimination.
While stating that Dr. Soludo has continued to empower and encourage the elderly, women, and children in the state since Governor Soludo took the mantle of leadership, she urged Ndi Anambra to double their support for administration of Governor Soludo for more dividends of democracy.
