Human Rights Group Demands Release Of Protesters From Police Custody

Sharing is caring

The Take It Back (TIB) Movement, a human rights advocacy organization, has called for the immediate and unconditional release of three protesters – Eleojo Opaluwa, Michael Adaramoye (aka Michael Lenin), and Mosiu Abolaji – who were allegedly abducted by the Department of State Services (DSS) and handed over to the police in Abuja.

The protesters were participating in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests against hunger, hardship, and bad governance in Nigeria.

TIB claims that they were blindfolded and detained by the DSS before being transferred to the Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The organization is also demanding the release of all peaceful protesters arrested and detained by the police and other security agencies across the country for participating in the protests.

The DSS has denied arresting Lenin, but TIB maintains that he and others were abducted and detained for exercising their right to protest.
