Hon Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, A Nigerian Lawmaker Engage German Counterparts On Security Sector Reform

Berlin, Germany – A high-powered delegation of Nigerian lawmakers, led by Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, has concluded a four-day working visit to Berlin, Germany, where they engaged their German counterparts on security sector reform.

The visit, which took place from November 24 to 28, 2024, was facilitated by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Programme EIZ I Sub-Saharan Africa Department, in collaboration with the Office of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Nigeria.

During the visit, the Nigerian lawmakers had the opportunity to learn from Germany’s federal security architecture and explore reform options for Nigeria’s security sector.

The delegation also engaged in fruitful discussions with German stakeholders, including lawmakers, security experts, and government officials.

Speaking on the sidelines of the visit, Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife expressed optimism that the engagement would yield positive results for Nigeria’s security sector.

“This visit has provided us with valuable insights into Germany’s security architecture, and we are committed to applying these lessons to strengthen our own security sector,” she said.

The visit is part of KAS’s broader efforts to support Nigeria’s Security Sector Reform, which has been ongoing since 2016.
