The Mayor of Idemili South local government area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata), has called on residents in the state to embrace agriculture to help curb food insecurity in the country.
She made this statement today during Agriculture Support Program of “Renewed Hope Initiative”, championed by Nigeria First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON.
She urged all to gear up towards transforming the food system and help curb food insecurity within the agriculture sector as well as enable them to make a decent living out of it.
While appreciating Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Dr. Mrs Soludo for their efforts towards the progress and development of women in the state and Nigeria, she added that embracing agriculture is one feasible way to solve our immediate food crisis while providing wealth for us.
Highlight of the event was the empowerment of over 200 people in Anambra under Renewed Hope Agriculture Support Scheme.
