A severe flood has damaged the federal highway connecting Kano to Maiduguri, leaving a large crater in the middle of the road and forcing motorists to find alternative routes.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Muhammad, visited the affected area and highlighted the significance of the road as a crucial link between Nigeria’s Northwest and Northeast regions.
Governor Muhammad urged the Federal Government to urgently repair the damaged road, citing the importance of facilitating the transportation of goods and services for the benefit of citizens.
The governor warned that if the Federal Government fails to address the issue, the state government will take remedial or permanent measures to resolve the problem, as was done during the last rainy season.
This incident is the latest in a series of flooding incidents in Bauchi State, which has resulted in widespread destruction across several local government areas.
