The Executive Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area of the State, Hon Amaka Obi, has congratulated the local government female volleyball team, for emerging winners of the Healthy Living Female Volleyball Competition Cup.
Idemili South female team finished the Competition unbeaten to emerge winner.
While speaking to newsmen, Hon Amaka commended the governors wife, Dr Mrs Nonye for her pet project, sustained investment in healthy living and sports development.
She said: “I am so glad and thank God that Dr Nonye Soludo is a lover of sports and keeping fit at large”.
She equally hailed the team for their doggedness, commending their brilliant play, hard work, and commitment
The Mayor noted that her administration has been committed to raising the bar in ensuring equal pay for the female team along their male counterparts to serve as motivation.
Hon Amaka added, “I congratulate the team for their well-deserved victory. I urge them to continue with the brilliant form, the girls have done well and made Idemili South proud.
