…Says Over 20 Ilorin Youths Association Recognized By Kwara State Government

Kwara Youths Development Advocacy Vanguard (KYDAV) has urged Dr Bukola Saraki and Senator Salihu Mustapha to desist from creating unprecedented division in the Emir of Ilorin’s palace in their desperation to win the forthcoming 2027 governorship election in the state.
The group said it read with dismay these days the sponsored articles by the Senator representing Kwara Central and the former Senate President against Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, whom the duo perceive as an obstacle to their dreams to capture the state in 2027.
Clarifying the claim by the sponsored writers that the governor hated the Emir of Ilorin and the Emirate, KYDAV said it was an evil attempt by their paymasters to create division between Governor Abdulrazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
The group recalled that Dr Saraki used the same narrative as a political tool against late ex-Governor Muhammad Alabi Lawal of the blessed memory in the 2003 governorship election and succeeded in turning the back of unsuspecting Ilorites against an action that eroded the gains of the state under the former military governor.
On allegation by Saraki and Mustapha’s camps against the governor that he wanted to create a division in the Emirate by endorsing the creation of another group to tackle the Ilorin Emirate Youths Development Association (IEYDA), the Publicity Secretary of the group, Dr Idris Bolakale said it was a lie from the pit of hell.
Dr Bolakale said the governor embraces and supports any group whose goal is a greater Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State, generally noting that the governor recognises over 20 Ilorin youths associations, including Ilorin Emirate Youth Integrity Vanguard, Ilorin Emirate Youths Development Association and Youth Integrated Group (YIG) among others.
Furthermore, the group blasted Alhaji Muhammad Uthman Jagunmo, the President of IEYDA, for infecting the association with his partisan politics and allowing himself to be used as a tool to reinvent another Lawal doesn’t like Emir of Ilorin kind of narrative.
Dr Bolakale said that as a member and serving executive of Kwara PDP, Jagunmo was expected to steer clear of partisan politics after emerging as the association’s president. He added that if the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) that is the mother of all unions and associations in the Emirate, didn’t complain when IEYDA was conceived, it seems no reason why Jagunmo should perceive the creation of a new union for the progressive of Ilorin Emirate as a threat. The Emir of Ilorin embraces all his children irrespective of their association or political affiliation and should not be dragged into youth association’s bickering.
KYDAV urged Dr Bukola Saraki, Senator Salihu Mustapha and Alhaji Jagunmo to prioritise the the development and harmony of Ilorin Emirate rather than resorting to blackmailing the governor to score cheap political points ahead of the forthcoming 2027 governorship election. He urged the political gladiators not to see creation of more youth associations as the end to their 2027 political calculations but a means for more growth and development of Ilorin Emirate youths.
